Creative Super X Fi Air Headphones

In all honesty, when you look at the headphones market, you come to realize that it happens to be a wonder on its own. Granted, you might think of it in a confused state of mind but if you pay close attention, you have countless companies releasing some of the best headphones available in the market.

However, not everything is the same.

As a matter of fact, you do run into some options that are less than promising. The headphone we are reviewing at today comes from Creative. We all know and love Creative for their great audio products. So, this headphone already has a lot to prove. How good is the Creative Super X-Fi? That is what we are going to find out.

Design

First things first, whenever you are looking to get your hands on a good headphone, design is definitely one of the factors that you should never ignore.

Why?

Simply put, the design can actually lead to a lot of practicality or impracticality, which can result in some of the issues that you might come across.

As far as the design is concerned, the Super X-Fi headphones look like any other pair of gaming headphones that are available in the market. However, without any angular design language.

It is a mix of gaming and contemporary headphone design, and while that might not work for everyone, it still is a good design language that I personally like.

The headband is covered in soft material, and the earcups are made out of breathable material, too. This means that your ears will get the chance to breathe and not get sweaty. However, the one downside to breathable fabric is that if you do have dry skin, it can easily pick up the flakes, which you will have to clean later down the road.

Overall, the design is good. It is not the best design in the market, and certainly not the worst. It gets the job done, and does it properly, as well.

Comfort

I don’t think I have ever stressed the importance of comfort enough when it comes to a good pair of headphones. I think, for me, comfort is just as important as the sound quality of the headphones. As a matter of fact, both of these complement each other in a way that one is incomplete, or useless without the other.

Keeping that in mind, if you are looking for something comfortable enough to last you a long time, then I have to tell you that this one is not it.

It's because of two reasons; one of them is the fact that they are heavier than I would prefer, and the other issue is that the padding on the earcups as well as the headband is simply not enough.

After using these headphones for extended periods of time, you can actually feel like they are becoming too much to wear, which obviously can be an issue for a lot of people, even a deal breaker for many.

These headphones are good to wear for shorter periods of time but if you are looking for longer listening hours, then you will be adjusting them a lot.

Performance

Last but not the least, performance is another extremely crucial factor that I have to look at whenever I am reviewing a pair of headphones; gaming or otherwise.

I was particularly excited about the Creative Super X-Fi headphones due to the X-Fi technology that was used in this pair of headphones, but sadly, the overall sound quality of these headphones is not really that big of a deal.

I am not saying that the headphones sound bad by any measure; given their price point, they sound exactly like the way they should be sounding. However, the real issue comes into play when you look at the technology that has gone inside these headphones. It is one of the best technologies from Creative, a technology that should have given a lot of amazing performance without any issues.

Sadly, the headphones simply cannot perform the way they should have performed, and that is one of the biggest downsides that we could think about.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have to say that when I first got my hands on the headphones, I was excited because the X-Fi technology is something that has proven itself time and again. My feelings were that these headphones will actually have a great performance.

Sadly, that is not the case. While the headphones do sound respective to their price tag, the thing is that you do not get the full potential of the technology that could have easily changed the headphone market if it were used in the way it should have been used in.

Overall, for me, the Creative Super X-Fi headphones are okay for what you are paying for them but you should not expect a miracle from them.
